Mac OS: Trashing the Preferences

by Cody Berndsen

Most applications, at some point in time, have issues with their operations. Whether its using text in Photoshop or the media went offline in Final Cut Pro. The way to fix this problem is to trash the preferences of that specific application.

Once the application starts to have operating problems you need to hide the application then go to your eMac Hard Drive. From here you need to go to your Home tab and open Library.

Step 2

Now, from the Library go to Preferences. Now go to the settings of the application you are using. In this case Adobe Photoshop CS3 Settings.

Step 3

Now by holding the Command key or Apple key select all he files you see in that folder and drag them to the Trash.

Now your application should be operating fine.
