We believe that when you purchase media content-whether it is a song a movie, or a TV show--you should have complete freedom to play it on all of your devices as many times as you'd like. It is within your right to copy media for your own use, however, as soon as you give that content to a friend, you're breaking the law and violating the artist's copyright. We don't steal music and you shouldn't either. We support DigitalConsumer.org's Bill of Rights as the best means to a burgeoning, diverse and lawful digital media market.
Here are several pages that deal with acquiring free music. There is a search page that you can use, but you are asked to keep it legal. The Feds and RIAA are not playing around with the illegal copying of mp3s. Recently the courts upheld a decesion where a mother had to pay RIAA $200,000 in fines due to her son illegally downloading mp3s (cite). If you are an adult you can assume reponsibility yourself, if you are under the age of 18 then think twice before doing anything the you may regret or that may harm your family.
When working with music you may want to insure your privacy for one reason or another, especially when a transcation is taking place. To address this concern, we have provided a link to a download called Vidalia that will insure your privacy while crusing the Web.
